4 3 2 1 by Paul Auster

This book was shortlisted for the 2017 Man Booker Prize and I can see why. It is a fantastic read and easily one of the most enjoyable books I have read this year. The book follows the life of Archie Ferguson as he grows from a boy to a man in and around New York City in the 1960’s.

The writing style is completely unique. A sentence can go for half a page and segue through several completely unrelated topics. But it works amazing well.

And to follow four different versions of Archie’s life. Very clever. Will definitely be adding some of Paul’s other works to my reading list
